The Vision Behind HKC

Founded with Purpose

In 1999, a group of dedicated specialists came together to build a centre focused exclusively on kidney and urology care in Hyderabad. HKC was founded by Dr. A. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy and Dr. S. Jayaram Reddy.

Founder — Consultant Urologist

A respected urologist and academician trained at Osmania Medical College (MBBS, MS, MCh Urology), Dr. Reddy served as a Professor of Urology for over a decade before establishing Hyderabad Kidney Centre (HKC) and Hyderabad Multispeciality Hospital, Malakpet. Over a career spanning decades he treated more than 10,000 patients and was known for his clinical excellence and compassionate care.

A co-founder of HKC, Dr. S. Jayaram Reddy brings over 35 years of expertise in advanced urology, complex kidney procedures, and surgical innovation. As Executive Director and Senior Consultant Urologist, he continues to shape HKC's clinical standards and its commitment to precise, patient-first renal and urological care.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring a government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar / PAN), your health insurance card if applicable, a list of all current medications and dosages, recent lab reports (within 6 months), and any prior imaging such as renal ultrasounds or CT scans.

How do I prepare for dialysis initiation?

Our care team will guide you through each step. We recommend creating vascular access (AV fistula) well before dialysis is needed. Our nephrologists provide personalized pre-dialysis counseling — please speak to your care team to schedule a session.

Does insurance cover nephrology consultations?

We accept most major health insurance plans including Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY), ESI, CGHS, and leading private insurers. Our billing team is available Monday–Saturday to verify your coverage before your visit.
